Stand With Crypto Convenes Members of Congress, Local Leaders to Discuss Future of Finance
A national event series will focus on the power of digital assets in local economies, as Congress continues to advance the CLARITY Act.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Stand With Crypto — America’s leading crypto advocacy organization — has launched a national event series designed to highlight the immense benefits digital assets can bring to Main Street economies. Hosted in empty storefronts in cities across the country, On The Block: The Future of Finance for Mainstreet will convene roundtable discussions with local advocates, business leaders, and members of Congress to discuss the benefits of digital asset and blockchain technology adoption, as well as the need for a clear framework to govern them.
In announcing the On The Block tour, Mason Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, issued the following statement:
Cryptocurrency is rapidly modernizing the way America does business, from international corporations to main street mom-and-pop shops. But the policy framework governing digital assets is beyond out-of-date – and that’s holding back the small businesses that could benefit the most. By bringing together members of the local community, we’re highlighting just how integral a forward-looking cryptocurrency policy – as outlined in the CLARITY Act – is to economic strength not just in our national economy, but in our cities and towns.
The tour kicked off in Cincinnati, OH on August 18, and continues on to Des Moines, IA on August 21; Kalamazoo, MI on August 25; Rockland, NY on August 27; and Elizabeth City, NC on September 11. Confirmed participants include Rep. Greg Landsman, Gov. Roy Cooper, Rep. Don Davis, Rep. Ritchie Torres, Rep. Zach Nunn, Rep. Bill Huizenga, and Rep. Mike Lawler. Additional stops and participants will be announced in the coming weeks.
Stand With Crypto has built a community-led movement to mobilize and harness the voice of America’s 67 million crypto owners into a powerful and unified voting bloc, championing clear, common-sense regulations for the crypto industry and unlocking crypto’s innovation potential while fostering greater economic opportunity and freedom.
