(San Francisco, CA) - Today, the Stand with Crypto Alliance (SWC) announced plans for their 2024 advocate engagement including their plan to knock on 50,000 doors in the California Senate primary and the launch of a candidate questionnaire and voter education program.
"We're excited for our work in this year's election cycle to have a real impact," said Nick Carr, Chief Strategist, Stand with Crypto. "The community of crypto voters is organizing like never before and are making their voices heard."
"Candidates are beginning to understand that crypto and blockchain is an issue they need to be ready to discuss because it is about innovation, personal economic freedom and building an important industry right here in America," said John Anzalone, Founding Partner, Impact Research. "They're realizing the crypto voter is an important part of the electorate - young and independent -- and these voters want to know where their current and future leaders stand on the issue."
The 2024 electoral program will employ various voter and candidate engagement methods to ensure that candidates know voters are prioritizing clear, common-sense crypto regulation as an issue and clarify candidate's stances for voters.
This week, SWC launched its candidate questionnaire to find out where each candidate stands on a common-sense national crypto policy. After responses are received and reviewed, SWC will release a scorecard for each candidate with the potential for financial support, media and social media publicity, and GOTV organizing in targeted districts.
Since SWC was launched 6 months ago, more than 300,000 people have joined this fight, adding 5-10% new engaged advocates every week. In addition to online activations, over 75 crypto founders have taken part in Washington, DC fly-ins, and have met with key members of Congress to talk about these issues.
SWC will also be engaging in voter education on issues around crypto in the important California Senate primary race, with a plan to knock on 50,000 doors to make sure voters who care about where their candidates stand on issues surrounding crypto.
To date, SWC has already held a Presidential primary candidates event in New Hampshire, and has held 6 roundtable events across the country. This year there will be additional candidate forums for Congressional candidates in Michigan, Alabama, and Pennsylvania, where voters will hear directly from the candidates on where they are on this important issue. Additional candidate events are forthcoming.
"Letting our candidates and Members of Congress know this is a key issue for the 52 million people who own crypto so critical," said Ola Musè, CEO and Co-Founder Scale3 Labs. "This is an industry that continues to grow and reinvent itself. But we need clear guidelines on a path forward, and we need to engage with leaders about what that path looks like. This is the time for our voices to be heard."
Already, the crypto community has contacted policy makers more than 144,000 times.
